Set out early in the morning on a trek to Sigiriya Rock one of Sri Lanka’s most well-known tourist attractions. Once housing the monarch’s palace the stairs to the summit are guarded by the renownedly large lion paws. See the ruins of the former Polonnaruwa kingdom by moving eastward after that.
